Umo Callins

Umo Callins is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), board-certified sports dietitian (CSSD), media dietitian, and certified personal trainer. She has over 15 years of experience providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and physical activity training to several clients across Oklahoma and surrounding states.

Umo specializes in sports and fitness nutrition and has extensive experience in helping individuals with weight management. In addition to physical and emotional health and fitness, she works with individuals seeking help with  nutritional management of diseases and medical conditions such as: heart disease, hormone imbalances, disordered eating, and learning how to follow a balanced diet. As a mother of three kids who are involved in sports and activities, she also has a genuine passion for educating parents and guardians on how to keep the family healthy!

Umo believes that when it comes to achieving a healthy lifestyle, it’s important to look beyond what you eat and see the bigger picture. This includes the necessities of sleep, stress, physical activity, emotional health, and other individual habits. Establishing a foundation of healthy eating and staying active are key. The greatest challenge for most is how to accomplish this while navigating the obstacles of everyday life. This is why Umo is passionate about tailoring her clients’ care and instilling full confidence in the behavior changes made to become the BEST version of themselves.

When Umo isn’t at Well Rooted, you can find her on local TV stations doing segments sharing her nutrition knowledge and expertise. She enjoys writing for various media outlets and working with brands. Her favorite activities are having dance parties with her adorable kiddos and spending time with her amazing husband. She and her husband work together training and fueling athletes to obtain their optimal performance and improve physical recovery. Umo is equally in love with physical fitness as she is with nutrition, and fulfills this through strength training, spin class, or high-intensity interval training (H.I.I.T.) As a self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking delicious meals and trying new restaurants.

Kelsey Tangney

Registered Dietitian

Kelsey Tangney is a seasoned professional in the field of dietetics, bringing over seven years of experience to her role at Well Rooted Health and Nutrition. As a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) and CACFP Childhood Nutrition Professional (CCNP), Kelsey has demonstrated her commitment to enhancing the well-being of individuals across various life stages.

Throughout her career, Kelsey has honed her expertise through multiple training programs, specializing in weight management for both pediatric and adult populations, lactation, and eating disorders. Her counseling experience spans a diverse range of clients, from newborns to geriatric individuals, and she has established herself as a go-to expert in pediatric (newborn and up), eating disorders, and pre/post-natal nutrition.

At the core of Kelsey’s philosophy is the belief that living one’s best life begins with a healthy and balanced relationship with food. She is dedicated to crafting personalized plans that empower individuals and their loved ones to achieve their health and nutrition goals, whether it’s introducing solids to a six-month-old or navigating social events without food-related anxiety. Kelsey rejects the notion that individuals should be defined by their current condition or diagnosis, striving to be a steadfast support and resource for all in need.

Recognizing the ever-evolving nature of the field of dietetics, Kelsey is motivated to continually expand her education and skills to better serve her community in the years to come. Her personal goal as a dietitian is not only to impart knowledge about nutrition but also to foster intentional relationships with each of her clients.

Away from her professional pursuits, Kelsey’s active upbringing in dance, gymnastics, cheer, volleyball, and softball has translated into a lifestyle that she continues to embrace. Together with her husband and sons, she finds joy in outdoor activities such as walks, gardening, and playing with animals. Traveling and remodeling their forever home are additional passions that contribute to her well-rounded lifestyle. In the kitchen, Kelsey enjoys creating and sharing items with subtle changes for healthier treats or meals.

As part of the Well Rooted Health and Nutrition team, Kelsey aligns with the mission of innovating a unique and tailored approach to health and nutrition. Jennifer Rodriguez

Registered Dietitian

Jennifer Rodriguez is a bilingual Registered Dietitian from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She completed her undergraduate, graduate, and dietetic internship at Oklahoma State University. As a teen, she realized the importance of education and the power of nutrition and exercise for overall health. Growing up in a traditional Mexican-Catholic household, she realized that there was very little representation of Latino healthcare providers and wanted to bridge the language barrier in healthcare for the community. Jennifer wanted to provide immigrant families the ability to make healthy choices to improve their quality of life.

With a passion for health and wellness, Jennifer works with those who struggle with weight loss, Type 2 Diabetes, and other various conditions. She also emphasizes the importance of physical activity for overall health. Jennifer believes that everyone can live a healthy life without sacrificing cultural identity and continue enjoying gastronomic traditions.

When Jennifer is not focused on reading the latest information regarding nutrition, you can find her weightlifting at the gym with her father, playing Mario games on her Nintendo Switch, or curled up and reading a book with her 10-year-old Chihuahua, Harry. Jennifer also loves to cook with her mother in hopes of passing down her traditional Mexican recipes to friends and family.
